Schedule & Shifts
Manage your work calendar, create shifts, and track your hours.
The Schedule is the heart of ReliefBooks. It's where you log every shift you work, track your hours, and keep a clear record of your assignments across all your facilities.
What you can do
From the Schedule page, you can:
- Create shifts for upcoming or past work, assigning them to a facility and rate card so your billing is always accurate.
- View your calendar in the format that works best for you -- day, week, or list view.
- Filter by facility to focus on shifts for a specific location when you work at multiple places.
- Track unbilled work so you never forget to invoice for shifts you've already completed.
- Connect Google Calendar to see your personal events alongside your work shifts in one unified view.
Calendar views
ReliefBooks gives you three ways to look at your schedule:
- Week View -- A 7-day grid where shifts appear as color-coded blocks. This is the default view.
- Day View -- An hourly breakdown for a single day, helpful when you have back-to-back shifts.
- List View -- A simple scrollable list of shifts sorted by date, great for reviewing a longer time range.
For details on switching between views and using filters, see Calendar Views.
Key workflows
- Adding and editing shifts -- Learn how to create one-off or recurring shifts, edit details, and delete shifts you no longer need. See Creating & Editing Shifts.
- Setting up recurring shifts -- If you have a standing assignment, you can create a repeating pattern instead of adding each shift one by one. See Recurring Shifts.
- Reviewing unbilled shifts -- After a shift's date passes, it becomes unbilled until you add it to an invoice. See Unbilled Shifts.
Getting started
If you're new to ReliefBooks, the fastest way to get going is to add your first shift. Click the Add Shift button in the top-right corner of the Schedule page, fill in the details, and you'll see it appear on your calendar right away.
